Will Dallimore's Music Keyboard Chord Chart is a
stand-alone utility requiring no additional dll's, etc.. It can be dropped
into your Windows directory (or any other of your choice) and a
short-cut linked to it from the Entertainment section of your Accessories
directory.
Selecting Chords If you required the Cmaj7 chord, first
click on the C button in the Keys panel, then click on the maj7
button in the Chords panel. If the next chord
you required was C6 then just click on the 6 button in the Chords
panel. The name of
the displayed chord will be shown to the right of the keyboard. On a musical
score a chord marked C is in fact a C major chord, Bb is
a Bb major chord, etc.. This is the default chord selected each time
you click on a button in the Keys panel, to select this type of chord at any other time click on the maj
button in the Chords panel.
Complex Chords Certain chords are made up of 5 notes and
although Will Dallimore's Music Keyboard Chord Chart shows these chords in full it
is not always possible to play all the notes easily. However you may be able
to obtain the 'color' of the chord without playing all the notes in the chord.
This will come with experience. You may find that the fingering suggested in
certain chords may not always suit your hand, if not, experiment until you
find the most comfortable finger positions.
Inversions Will Dallimore's Music Keyboard Chord Chart offers
a choice of every inversions of each chord. To scroll through the different
inversions of a chord click on either of the arrows in the Inversion
panel. By default the each chord when selected will be shown in its Root
position.
Exit Click on the X (Close) button to end the program.
